MTM has highly qualified scientific and technical staff in the following subject areas:
- the influence of technological factors in hot rolling, descaling, cold rolling, annealing, temper rolling and coating on the quality of sheet steel;
- optimization of rolling processes and quality management of flat rolled products;
- the influence of technological parameters of hot rolling, cold rolling and temper rolling of strips on the efficiency, stability and reliability of sheet mill equipment and on mill productivity;
- effective methods of forming the optimal thermal and stress state of coiled strip in hot rolling, cold rolling and annealing in bell-type furnaces;
- algorithms, measuring systems and automatic control of strip rolling processes.
Scientific and technical consulting services may take the form of an independent expert review of tender proposals for the construction of sheet rolling plants or individual units, based on a comparative analysis of their technical characteristics and a forecast of the achievable quality and productivity.

- quality problems of flat rolled products related to flatness and surface condition, including surface defects of various kinds;
- qualified support in drawing up technical and technological specifications;
- analysis and solution of problems of the mechanical equipment of sheet rolling mills using modern methods of diagnosing the condition of equipment and stand drive lines, and measuring and analysing their vibrations;
- scientific and technical audits of the technology and equipment of sheet rolling plants;
- improving the efficiency of roll cooling in sheet rolling mills.
Computer simulation tools.
Qualified scientific and technical consulting is supported by a set of specialized computer systems we have developed for the engineering calculation of parameters and the optimization of flat rolling processes, as well as by finite element models.

- «NLMK» (RF) in analysing proposals for the construction of reversing mills for rolling high-silicon electrical steel strips at «NLMK» (RF) and «VIZ-Stal» (RF);

- «Lechler» (Germany) in evaluating options for upgrading roll cooling systems of sheet rolling mills;
- «Sundwig» (Germany) in designing reversing cold rolling mills for silicon electrical steel;
- «Modul» (Ukraine) in analysing the technical characteristics of the reversing cold strip mill 1500;
- UkrSSEC «Energostal» (Ukraine) in designing a new sheet rolling plant in the RF.
